01 benefits

Why do companies choose Dock?

The biggest technology problems rarely appear overnight. Most often they are the result of small decisions put off for months, of no time, or of no room for the system to grow. Our role is not only to react when something stops working, but to help companies develop technology before it starts limiting the business.

Questions we hear often

Do you take over projects built by other companies?

Yes. This is one of the most common ways our work starts.

We take over both online shops and web applications previously developed by other software houses, freelancers or in-house IT teams.

We begin by reviewing the project, learning the architecture and identifying the risks. That lets us safely take responsibility for developing and maintaining the system from there on.

How does starting work together look?

We start by getting to know the business, the technology and what you need right now.

We review the project, access to the infrastructure, how changes are deployed and the areas that most need support. Then we agree the model of working together, the priorities and a plan for the first weeks.

Our aim is to get the project in order quickly and keep everything running without downtime.

How fast do you respond to outages?

That depends on the agreed level of support and how critical the problem is.

Outages that affect sales or the availability of the system get priority. We also use monitoring, which often means we catch a problem before customers report it.

Do you offer support outside standard working hours?

Yes.

For online shops and systems handling sales, outages do not wait until Monday. We can provide extended support, on-call cover and handling of critical situations outside standard hours.

Can I commission both large projects and small changes?

Yes.

Within the same arrangement you can commission the development of new features as well as small tasks: a content change, setting up a promotion, fixing a form, updating parts of the site.

You do not have to look for different suppliers for different kinds of work.

Do you help grow the shop’s sales?

Yes.

Technology is there to support business results. Beyond building features, we help identify the problems affecting conversion, performance and the user experience.

We also support analytics, A/B tests, automation and improvements to the buying process.

Which e-commerce platforms do you support?

We work both with the popular e-commerce platforms and with custom solutions.

We look at every project individually. What matters is not which technology the shop runs on, but whether we can effectively support its growth and maintenance.

Do you only work with online shops?

No.

We specialise in maintaining and developing online shops, but we also support web applications, B2B platforms, customer portals, internal systems and SaaS products.

What if I have no technical documentation?

That is a very common situation.

Missing documentation is not an obstacle to starting. During the takeover we review the code, the infrastructure and how the system behaves, to build the knowledge needed to develop it further.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes.

Protecting our clients’ business information is standard practice. On request we sign an NDA before the project review even begins.

Can I use only part of the services?

Yes.

We do not require you to take the full scope of support. You can commission development only, or maintenance, monitoring, digital accessibility or selected marketing and automation work.

We fit the scope to what the business needs.

How do you monitor the shop or application?

We use our own monitoring tools.

We watch service availability, application errors, performance and the parts that carry the business.

That lets us react faster and limit the impact of problems.

Do you help improve the shop’s performance?

Yes.

Performance directly affects the user experience, conversion and visibility in search.

We analyse the bottlenecks, optimise the application, the database and the infrastructure, and then measure the effect of the changes.

Do you support WCAG compliance and digital accessibility requirements?

Yes.

Digital accessibility is one of the areas we specialise in. We run audits, implement the recommendations, monitor compliance and help organisations meet the legal and business requirements around accessibility.

What sets DOCK apart from other software houses?

Most companies focus on development alone.

We combine software development with monitoring, maintenance, digital accessibility, automation and business support.

That gives clients one partner responsible for the whole technology area.

Do I need a ready backlog or specification?

No.

Many companies come to us with a specific business problem rather than a finished list of tasks.

We help put the requirements in order, set the priorities and plan the work that will bring the business the most value.

How is the work billed?

Most often we work on a fixed monthly retainer covering agreed availability of the team.

That way you know the competence you need is there when you need it, and the scope can flex as the business grows.

Can you help if my current supplier has stopped developing the project?

Yes.

We regularly take over projects left without support, or built by companies that have closed down or can no longer provide the level of service needed.

We help you regain control over the technology and continue developing the system safely.

Will I have to manage the developers myself?

No.

Our role is to take responsibility for organising the work, for the technical recommendations and for getting the tasks done. That lets you focus on running the business instead of coordinating technical work.

How can I tell whether working with DOCK is right for me?

The best way is a short call.

We will get to know your business, your current challenges and your goals, and then judge whether we can help. If we decide another route suits you better, we will say so plainly.

Our aim is a long-term relationship built on trust and concrete results, not a sale at any cost.
